Does Petrol (gasoline) have a place in the 21st Century?
Worldwide cooperatives (weblinks)
Sitting here with the central heating on, the washing machine happily washing a few clothes and the kettle boiling away for a cuppa, I thought how much energy am I using? Well I though I would find out here is a chart that should help you too work out how much energy you use. You might also note that there is an estimation of how much CO2 is released too. Have a look below the chart to see if you want to swap to a green supplier.
| Appliance | kWh | tonnes CO2 |
| Radiators and other heating systems | 25,000 | 5-6 |
| Bath 2 times a week | 300 | 0.2 |
| Shower 4 times a week | 200 | 0.15 |
| Vacuum cleaner once a day | 50 | 0.03 |
| Radio | 50 | 0.03 |
| Stereo | 50 | 0.03 |
| Computer (including accessories) | 500 | 0.4 |
| Iron | 50 | 0.03 |
| Electric cooker | 400 | 0.25 |
| Hairdryer | 20 | 0.01 |
| Washing machine 3 times a week | 150 | 0.3 |
| Television | 400 | 0.3 |
| Kettle | 500 | 0.3 |
Cheers to Environ for the table.
