Home Brew

Andy hamilton and Arne Geshkie enjoying a beerThe self sufficient deserves time off and what better than with a nice glass of your favorite home brewed alcohol. It is good to have a brew on the go all througout the year. This way your house is always ready for visitors. Or a sneaky few more after the pub. As I write this Christmas is approaching and I assume my alcohol store will be run dry. This will be the first time in a few years and I am going to have to nip out and pick some nettles to make nettle beer and ensure that I don't run out. - (and yes that is bought beer in the picture I just like the photo)

We have a rather limited selection of home brew at the moment and fully intend to update it over 2007 as we experiment with other brews. For now many of your questions about home brew can be anwsered on our forum. This is also the place to post your own home brew recipes to share with the world.

We have covered the three esential brews with wine, beer and cider. These are meant as guidelines for brewing your own. I have always found that the best advice for home brewing can be found at your local home brew shop. At present my local home brew shop is called Brewers Droop it is situated on the Gloucester Road in Bristol and it comes highly recomended. Ran by three blokes and the one with the crazed eyes gives the best advice. (I hope he doesn't mind me saying that).

So go on go get a fermenting bin and get brewing!
