The Selfsufficientish Urban Guide to Foraging - Day and Evening courses, Corporate events and group events. We now offer a range of foraging events or you can book a weekend course, an evening course or book us for your Stag or Hen Weekend (as long as we're not confused for the stripper!!). We will also do corporate forages (see below for more details). The day weekend courses are the most in depth and last from 10-4. They are a great day out and a good chance to meet new people with like minds. We cover a lot of ground in terms of the walk and plants but you shouldn't feel lectured at any time. The evening courses are a great start to foraging and you are sure to go home having learnt something. On both courses you'll learn - - How to tell the difference between poisonous and edible plants
- How to keep yourself in condiments for nothing!
- What plants are native and which arrived with invading armies.
- What medicinal plants were used throughout history
- New facts about the wild foods you already know.
- How to control invasive weeds by eating them!
As there are two of us teaching you how to forage and the groups are fairly small you should find it easier to ask questions and therefore enrich your foraging experience. We will not just be telling you what foods are around now but also will point out plenty of plants to help you identify your dinner throughout the year.
