Sounds worth having a go - thanks for the thread. They do grow it round here so obviously works in this ground.
I know of the sort your Mum used to smoke. Hubby had something similar to help him quit. made of rose petals and camel dung I think, absolutely stunk!

Re: Butter beans
Youre right M3, you can grow all sorts of lovely things here especially hidden in the hedges
Seriously though, would it be that easy to grow it to smoking and would you need tons of it to make it worthwhile?

Re: Best flavoured tomato ?

Re: Best flavoured tomato ?
Bit late on this thread but Ive grown toms from Lidl after eating them and found them delicious!! These are small, kind of bullet shape and packed full of flavour. Re: butternuts
Ive had a disasterous year with all veggies (too hot and dry!) but most sad for me is the lack of potimarrons and butternuts. Although I planted them in May and theyve flowered, Ive only now got some tiny fruits on the plants. Hoping there will be enough time before the frosts come

I still only have the 1 plant flowering but I have a courgette flowering. Now, silly question of the day - cant I use the 2 different plants for pollination?
