Re: The oil cleansing method - cheap, eco and rather darned good

I've been making do with sunflower oil, but my caster oil is now sitting patiently at the post office waiting for me (foolishly went for a walk just before postie was due, so naturally it was delivered today). Looking forward to trying it with the proper stuff this weekend too! And of course, if it'...

Re: Anyone tried quoting 1908 Allotment Act at their council?

I am going to make a mini-crusade over it, I have decided! I've had absolutely no response to my email asking what they are doing to follow the requirements of the act, and the other couple of times I've emailed them about bits and bobs I've had a response in a few hours or less. Might see if I can ...

Anyone tried quoting 1908 Allotment Act at their council?

I've just written to my council asking why there's a 2.5 year waiting list for allotments, since the 1908 Small holdings and Allotments Act clearly states a responsibility on the part of the council to provide sufficient allotments. I don't particularly expect it to make a great deal of difference, ...

Re: Where do you sell your secondhand reusable nappies?

Sarah, I've just PMed you, but thought I'd say, I reckon 20 was a nice amount for us over winter - it allowed us to always have dry nappies, even though we don't have a tumble drier. A couple more wouldn't have hurt, especially if he'd been a pooey baby (he hardly ever did - 9 days was the record), ...

Re: The oil cleansing method - cheap, eco and rather darned good

So glad that at least someone hadn't heard of it! My skin is definitely at least as good as it was during my alarmingly expensive Eve Lom habit, if not better. And at £2.99 for a bottle of oil instead of £46.50 (shipped in from abroad probably, too), it makes me a lot happier! I was so excited I did...

The oil cleansing method - cheap, eco and rather darned good

I don't know if everyone in the world is secretly aware of this, and I've been the only one spending a small fortune on rubbish to put on my face, but I'm a recent convert to the oil cleansing method, and since it fits in with the Ish lifestyle, I thought I'd share. Basically, instead of cleansing, ...

Re: Where do you sell your secondhand reusable nappies?

Thanks for the advice!

Clara, I'll PM you about them.

Luvpie, they're size 1. I think they're meant to go from something like 8-18lb...

Re: Any Ishy Bloggers out there?

We've given ourselves a 5 year deadline for self sufficiency (or rather, our loosely defined version of self sufficiency), my blog about our mission is in the signature. Looking forward to looking at some of yours too when The Boy finally deigns to go back to sleep - surely even a 10 month old must ...

Where do you sell your secondhand reusable nappies?

I've got about 20 Tots Bots bamboozles that we're done with (I found a different reusable that, for no apparent reason, my boyfriend much preferred and therefore used, unlike the bamboozles). Ebay theoretically bans sales of secondhand nappies, but there's loads listed on there. However, when I list...

Hello! Another South East-er (Easter?!)

Hi, I'm in West Sussex and just thought I'd drop a hello in before I go and scour the other boards - there's so much fascinating info in there that I can see nothing else getting done today until I've finished... We're slowly but surely inching towards more self sufficiency - we grow what we can in ...
