Re: Plan/build a sturdy shed/workshop for windy location?
Hi Sally. My wife and I had plans to build a BBQ out of some spare bricks we have so we bought the 'Bricky' tool after seeing it on TV. We haven't used it yet but a friend of ours, who is a builder says that it's a good help for anyone who has never laid bricks and mortar. http://www.brickytool.com/...

Re: Washing Machine Drum wood burner
Make sure you wear some stout gloves as there's a certain amount of sharp plastic involved. My hands looked like I'd been wrestling with the cat.

Re: Maggots in compost bin
I don't think they are such a bad thing. If there are too many flies in my compost bin, I just leave the top off for half an hour. They usually make a bolt for freedom.
The usual cause of flies is too much fruit in the bin.

Washing Machine Drum wood burner
Don't throw your old washing machine away. Go at it with a screwdriver and hammer and before long, you'll have a nifty wood burner. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/meatpaste/washer1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/meatpaste/washer2.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/meatpaste/was...

Just to be different I suppose and yes, the angles are a bit of a challenge!MuddyWitch wrote:Welcome to ISH![]()
Why are you building your greenhouse in the octagonal shape? (Just being nosey, as I'd never work out all those angles!)

Hi from Lincoln
Hi. I'm a 53 year old, married, father of 2 from Lincoln who loves to grow veg both in my garden and at my children's school.
I like to recycle as much as possible and my current project is to build myself an octagonal greenhouse (only because the ones you can buy are mad money).
