Re: Vegan recipes

A tad off-topic, but I don't want to upset the non-Vegans (always shoving it down our throats, blah blah!) but I had Vegan Fish and Chips at a veggie restaurant in Newcastle the other day. Quite unnerving to begin with, as it was very close to how I remember fish tasting. As for recipes, what sort o...

I'd have maybe said something like 'you don't like toilet bowl either, but you still use your toothbrush every day'

But I am evil

Re: Sinusitis

The charcoal is vegetable based char (as opposed to bone char) and is standardised for purity (hence medicinal) It is probably there to provide bulk or colour, as the only use medicinally I know of is to treat excessive wind!

Re: Sinusitis

Are odourless garlic capsules really odourless these days? I remember in the past having a boss taking them and we only worked in a tiny two room plus a kitchen and loo sized office, and it stank! It was absolutely horrendous! :pukeright: Are you sure it wasn't an actual loo you worked in, and that...

Re: Conditioner

When you've washed your hair, use a capful of cider vinegar in a jugful of water as your last rinse. This neutralises the alkalinity of the shampoo, and helps stop your scalp becoming dry, reduces split ends, and gives really good shine. Back when I had long hair, I used this all the time! (no vineg...

Re: Sinusitis

Dunno if anyone's mentioned it, but garlic is the respiratory system's bessie mate! It works by making the mucus less sticky, so when you blow, more snot emerges, and less gets stuck (and therefore less likely to become infected) If you don't want to stink then take odourless garlic tablets. The bes...

I like this. Can't you just see the Citroen Double Nobby? The Ford Rusty? The General Motors Trev? Yes, I foresee a totally new poetic world   Mike Fiat did used to sell a car in South America called the "Rustica". For some reason, that name wasn't used in Europe. Personally, I'...

Re: Allreet!

I'm not sure whether there is much of a difference in vegan/ non-vegan weight, you can make vegan versions of almost everything, including all the bad stuff like cakes, pastry, chocolate, burgers, ice cream, etc! And you can still deep fry stuff if you like too! What are you calling "bad...

Re: Allreet!

I know quite a few vegans and they are all really slim. What happened.............do you live on potatoes? chrissie Lol, I love potatoes, but I and my wife love cooking (and eating) so we experiment with all sorts of stuff. I've always been a big guy, and being into martial arts helps keep my muscl...

Re: What have you got brewing at the moment

I picked up some brewing gear from a car booty (3 Demijohns with airlocks, half a dozen bottles, a hydrometer a filter and some random bits and bobs, all for a fiver, cher-ching!) in August, then set to work with a load of apples we got given, and a carrier bag full of brambles from the waste ground...

Re: HANGING CLOTHES TO DRY / news article.

What kind of crazy world do we live in when there are actually laws against putting out clothes to dry? I'd walk round starkers in protest! There's nothing so nice as the smell of freshly line dried clothes, especially when dried on a blowy summer day, especially living by the sea, you get a lovely ...
