So they were talking about them on radio and it got me to thinking.

Anyone tried to grow them, esp in Northern UK [Lancashire] altho I do have a greenhouse and large sheltered porch if need to protect.

Do you start in tube/loo rolls like mange toute/peas ?

Any other factors ?

Starting to think about this year; more peas and broad beans, spread out mange tout [ok all sowings] Any recommendations for slug proof spuds ? lost half of mine last year. I just run a cable with 'jacks' from lappy to surround sound system, it has a special thingy, same as what you plug earphones into. Easy peasy, got it from a big box electronics store, couldnt tell you which one tho.
