Re: Homemade Sausage/Burger Recipes
As the years go by,my tastes develop/change,as my taste buds go the same way as my liver/sanity/mobility,etc.Once I wouldn't consider omitting FRESH sage, and a splash of rough cider. Then crumbled black pudding. Then cooked bacon, and so on.Nowadays,in decrepitude,it's fresh chillies and some chirizo.(...

Don't entirely go along with that( mostly though).I plant all my first earlies in buckets, then follow them with the same again.( In fact 90% of our spuds are earlies.)If you 've stuck them in the ground, lime a bit, then follow up with Purple Sprouting ,if you've not sown any, buy plants from the mar...

Re: Is it the right place?
I moved away from my roots,as there was no future there for my lately aquired children (see previous rant).I would encourage anyone that sees the prospect of a long sought after holding in an unfamiliar place coming to fruition,to take a sideways step and be sure you take in all the considerations t...

Re: Is it the right place?
I can tell you this, if land is cheap then there is something wrong with it, good land in Wales can cost a lot of money, if populations are small like we have here, work is harder to find and so is a market for your produce, just a couple of things to consider although you probably have already. Si...

Re: Just for a laugh.
Another strange occurrence: Last night as I closed the laptop Her indoors asked me what I'd been looking at, ''Oh just a few cheap flights'' ,I reply. Suddenly she gives me a massive hug, tells me she loves me,and drags me off to the bedroom!! I was stunned,...I never realised she was even interested...

Re: DIY Hydroponics
I've been looking at the Oz site you mention,it's all good motivating stuff, and your results speak for themselves. I've got hold of a second hand lean to,which will go on the side of the garage in the coming winter, and I'll rig up some extra lighting.Cos it aint the biggest GH the world's ever seen...

Re: Can I run radiators with my solid fuel Rayburn Royale?
2nd hand rads are dead cheap/free.The new pipe system can run hot water through plastic pipe with snap on fittings..ie. no more pissing about with copper and solder. You'll need a sparkie to wire in the (cheap) pump, but that shouldn't be a big deal.Google about, there's loads of stuff,if your not too ...

Re: Can I run radiators with my solid fuel Rayburn Royale?
Simple answer,Yes. Get a 'bloke' to checkout it's serviced, etc (or better still do it yourself).Deduce the year it was made(lots of websites will help),this will help you find the output in btus. They made the royal for decades but I think the output varied. Anyhow,if you stick a small electric pump ...
