Re: MUSIC!
Known the Barflys for years. They played at both my 40th and 50th Birthday bashes and I have already provisionally booked them for my 60th in 6 years time.

Another vote for the Peatbog Faeries here. Also like Thea Gilmore, Jackie Leven, Ryan Adams, Leningrad Cowboys, Alabama 3, Martha Tilson, John Otway, Rory Gallagher. There are a couple of local bands like Billy in the Low Ground and the Mike Hoddinott Allstars that are superb. Saw a great band calle...

Re: Recession?What recession???
The economic system is fueled by consuming as much product in the shortest possible time. Most new goods either have built in obsolescence or perceived obsolescence so it will need replacing either because it is no longer fit for purpose or has been superseded by a new alledgedly improved model. My resident blackbirds have been getting as close as a couple of feet, when I've been out weeding. Also being quite vocal as well.

Badger Brewery brew Golden Glory which is peach flavoured and is lovely and refreshing. In fact it refreshes parts that other beers can't reach.

Re: Cropredy 2012
Used to go every year without fail but recently the line up hasn't really inspired me. There are other festivals that I now prefer. Richard Thompson is a great comedian when talking between tracks plus a great guitarist and songwriter However he is a bit of an aquired taste, a Marmite musician you m...

At least I have 3 full water butts which should last me a while. I must admit that I'm not over keen on this heat.
