Re: someone is trying to steal my cat!
im assuming Salem's a boy and you've not spayed him. you should allways spay your cats. it helps prevent wandering, sent marking and fighting other males, and also obviously pregnancy in females. tom cats spray everywhere to mark their teritorry and wander a lot looking for females ect. so my advic...

Re: Any other foragers in the north west?
heya, just PMed you.
I'm up for a foraging meet-up...I don't drive so anywhere near a train station is preferable for me...my other half drives so I could probably get other places, as long as no one minds having my other half and 3 kids in tow!

Re: Up or down?
I grew up in just outside London and now live in Wigan. When I visit my family I always go "down" to visit and they come "up" to visit me. I find it odd when friends from London say "when are you next coming up?"...it doesn't make sense. One does not go up to London, on...

Re: Any other foragers in the north west?
heya, i live in Wigan. I'm interested in foraging but haven't got much experience...i picked some elderberries last year and attempted to make some wine, but i don't think I bottled them soon enough and it all tastes slightly vinigary. will try again this year! know any foraging hot spots you want t...

Re: someone is trying to steal my cat!
We already have another cat, one of Salem's offspring actually...there's no chance of her leaving home, she doesn't even like going outside much! I think this is due to her being the runt of the litter, my OH had to hand rear her as a kitten so now she thinks she's part-human!

Re: someone is trying to steal my cat!
I haven't checked back here for a while, but here's an update for anyone who is interested... A few weeks ago we got a phone call from the RSPCA who gave us a number for a lady who had Salem's chip scanned after he had been visiting her for a couple of weeks (he must have been between our house and ...

Re: weight loss group
I probably should have joined this topic a long while ago, but lately I have just not had the willpower to diet properly. However, me and a friend at work have agreed to diet together starting today. I'm not counting calories at the moment, just trying to stick to cutting out all the bad bits (refin...

ooh I love a good ghost story! I didn't believe in them until we had one in our last house...
I think it most likely was your great-grandfather, and there might be somthing about him he wants you to find out from the way he shouted at you!

Re: someone is trying to steal my cat!
There are people who think it is just plain wrong to collar a cat (they get caught in bushes and cat gets strangled - never known it happen mind!) - maybe your cat is visiting one of these people and they remove it thinking they are doing it a favour? That never even crossed my mind, I've never hea...

Re: someone is trying to steal my cat!
thanks for all the advice...I'll try putting a note on his collar. I just don't understand why whoever it is keeps taking his collar off! I'll give it the benefit of the doubt one more time, but if this new collar goes missing again I guess all I can do is notify out local cats home in case someone ...

Re: someone is trying to steal my cat!
he is microchipped, but they can't scan it because he's such a fatty. Although he's a big cat he's still healthy and active.
I'm not too worried about others feeding him, just wish they wouldn't take his collar off!

someone is trying to steal my cat!
one of our cats Salem is dead friendly and spends most of his time outside (we have to kick him out at night as he refuses to use the litter tray...but thats another story...). Over the last couple of weeks he has disapeared for a couple of nights on the trot, which isn't unusual, but last week he w...
