Rhubarab Jam

I have a recipe for rhubarab jam but i'm unsure what type of sugar you use, the recipe just says sugar, can anyone enlighten me to which sugar i should use.

Hi, A friend of mine owns a smallholding and they have New Hampshire Reds and Light Sussex, very good dual purpose birds. We have NHR's but not eaten any yet but we have had our LS cockerel (very nice too), over the wekend we'll be (hubby that is) dispatching 1 of the NHR cockerel's that we hatched ...

I read somewhere that you don't give meat products to hens ...all other household cooked food is ok.
Dont you find though that when you give your hens their shells back that they start eating their eggs before you get to them, i did so stopped feeding the shell to them.

My hubby has tried all ways to dispatch first rung the neck..didn't like that so next time chopped the head right off....yak :pukeleft: so now he shoots in the head. The cone sounds ok ....daft silly question though will a road cone be ok you know the type i'm on about them red and white things that...

well i got my first lot of tatties in and got some broad beans off and stuck em in the freezer after part boiling them (flash in boiling water and out again). My hubby works for a lorry firm and comes home with lots n lots of wood....2x2, 4x4, sheets of the stuff and bits...the 2x2 and 4x4 and sheet...

Hi all we are in Peterhead...what i call the forgotten corner.
It's funny how you find folk you chat too on other forums, Hope i can find lots more info on here too then to help us be more self sufficient, we are our way by starting with the hens, ducks and growing our own veg.
