Re: Any home edders out there?
Not rude at all! Very valid question. We really weren't well off at all though. Mum was a full time mother who sometimes did freelance writing. Dad was and still is a self employed woodworker who also spent my childhood building our house. We grew up in a caravan living very much hand to mouth. My p...

Re: Any home edders out there?
I was home schooled myself and I can highly recommend it from a kids point of view. My mum and dad are both ex teachers which I guess helped with the ins and outs of the actual educating but they hated the system and neither me no my two sisters ever attended conventional, Steiner or any other sort ...

Re: Learn guitar?
One thing that is worth doing, if you can muster up the technology to do it, is to record yourself playing and singing. When you listen back you will probably cringe but, if you can resist beating yourself up too much, you should be able to pick out things you can do well (look for more opportuniti...

Re: Learn guitar?
Singing is something 99% of people can do if they practice, it'll come don't worry!
Guitar shops tend to be a lot less scary than they look too. Just go in and ask for one, chances are they'll have the capo's hung up behind the counter anyway.
Good luck!

Re: Ghost? Probably not, but...
I'd love to believe that ghosts and crypotzoology are real matters, nothing is cooler.
However, I'd suggest, slightly tongue in cheek, that it was just classic British politeness that made it seem as if everyone else hadn't seen the fellow!

I would love to build something like this for myself. It's a case of finding the land and the planning permission, or a way round it!

Another tip to reduce the amount of the stuff you actually need to use is to make sure you wipe or rinse the utensils as soon as they come off the cooker or back form the table. Stuff comes off a lot easier when it's not had time to crust.
Sorry if that's stating the obvious!

Re: Learn guitar?
I would suggest you have a look for something like a "three chord songbook". these take many popular songs and arrange them in the same key so you can play them with the same chords.
Some would call it "cheating" but it's a good step onto the ladder.

Re: Learn guitar?
Hi Susie,
I teach the guitar, and the one thing I'll say as a starting tip is; don't try too hard! You'll put yourself off. Aim to practice less than you think you could, and build from there.
I hope that makes sense!

Hello everyone
Hello from Glasgow! 25 year old unemployed fellow here, trying to start up in business teaching the guitar. I grew up on a small holding and I have a long last affection for all things permaculturey and self sufficientish. One of my earliest memories is of being enchanted by John Seymour's book for ...
