you will always get theives where there are people I'm afraid. On our allotments ever the plot holders themselves pinch from each other...vegetables are often going missing...I .lost a lot of onions last year

not all city dwellers are bad or unreasonable. Some people are silly, bad tempered, unreasonable, and /or just plain stupid. Where they live is irrelevant to these traits...they can be city dwellers or country dwellers.

I have several of those big green compost bins as well as some made from recycled pallets and they all make decent compost. i put in all veggie waste, urine ( when taken short on the lottie), grass cuttings in small quantities, weeds, pigeon muck and anything else I can get hold of...I water it, tur...

I add composted grass or just put grass cuttings in when I am planting stuff as, when the grass rots down it produces an acidic compost...good for the spuds. Also avoid putting mushroom compost on the soil as this contains lime.

it's not that cold here despite the snow....we are putting broad bean seeds in pots and onion sets in the ground...nothing else yet as I am about to go on holiday and watering would be a problem

tha allotments are a really good community. At ours everyone helps each other out and the younger ones dig the plots of the old guys. everyone shares seeds, seedlings, and of course the harvest. the vegetables are just passed round. I was given some leeks on Sunday, just picked and washed...made bea...

I am the secretary at our allotment site and we currently have a waiting list of 10. There are 144 plots..all different sizes ,but roughly "large" and "small". The small ones are £17.75 per year and the large ones are £19.75. Rents are due on 1st January but I am just sendi...

the only water we had on the farm in ireland when I was a kid was the well and we never had any trouble or illness. I wouldn't worry about it
