Yes, inadvertant felting - I did that with a beautiful jumper I knitted from Rowan wool (really expensive) that my mum had given me as a present. Haven't told her yet....

What a good idea! It is our own home so I can experiment a bit. Will give this a go at the weekend in the gappiest bit near the window..

gappy floorboards

I've got very gappy floorboards which are drafty, and also gaps between floorboards and skirting in a couple of places. Any ideas about how I could seal them, please.

HI deborah, I am big and have had terrible troubleven with so-called wide-top wellies. In the end I got some that were a bit big in the feet and just cut a v-shaped section out of the back of each welly top - not very elegant but comfortable and practical as long as you're not going to be up to your...

Hi everyone and thanks for the lovely friendly welcome, and all the encouragement.
First project is to sprout some alfalfa seeds n a jar in the kitchen - better to start small while i'm still thinking and planning!
