Re: Grape vineleaves

Hi We went for a walk today and in a very shady spot I found a vine which looked like a grapevine. There didn't appear to be any grapes on it and I couldn't see the little tendrils hanging down. The shape of the leaf though appears right for grapevine. It felt a bit prickly/thorny on the back of th...

Re: wild plums and apples

I saw some wild plums/damsons (i think) while walking home from work a different way yesterday. Is there anything else that looks like plums? or can I be pretty sure that's what they are?

Sorry if that's a stupid question, I'm very new to forraging!

Re: Going car-free(ish)

Myself and the oh have been totally car free now for almost one year and if we can do it anyone can!!!!!!!!!!!! Am I allowed to disagree? Yes, I could live without a car - if I was prepared to live without income; or prepared to move to a council house in an area that is so rundown that nobody else...

Re: 101 legal and free things for bored teenagers to do

hmmm...whilst all the above are great suggestions, I wasn't interested in most of the above when I was a teenager (I mostly hung around T**co underage drinking and smoking :dontknow: ) but here's some of the legal stuff I did... 66. Skateboarding/blading 67. Go for a picnic 68. Go to some local gigs...

Re: I think I'll.......

As I said, I don't agree with much of what's happened over the last few days but some of it, if not all of it, is understandable even if it is unpalatable. I have just been reading elsewhere a blog which does show a differnt light on things: "In one NBC report, a young man in Tottenham was asked if...

Re: Hyperhidrosis, anxiety and depression *help*

I don't know anything about hyperhidrosis, but my parner has bipolar disorder (manic depression) which sometimes causes anxiety too. There's no easy answer or cure, but you're doing brilliantly just by being there for him and supporting him. The best thing you can do is go along to the doctors and l...

Re: Dry Your Washing Without the Tumble Drier....

I might have to invest in one of those!
Even though it's the middle of August we've had showers the last few days so we can't risk leaving the washing out all day to dry while me and my partner are at work. We're getting though tonnes of washing at the moment potty training the little one...

Re: Online dating; here we go again !!!!

I am fascinated by the eharmony advert and the slightly mad way they say 'we will match you on INTELLECT and VALUES' with all the consonants really pronounced. However the one where the soppy woman sings about liking Godfather 3* makes me cringe and whimper although it may be an amazing site, I do ...

Re: Not Quittin' Smoking

isn't snuff worse than cigarettes in a lot of ways? i heard it can do things to the inside of your nose (although this might just be a rumour lol). I don't have any plans to quit. I quit while I was pregnant, but got back into the habbit when I started working again. These days I only smoke 2 or 3 a...

well done!! that's brilliant! I'm actually pretty jealous. I've been attempting a home-learning course over the last couple of years, but recently decided to quit. I'm just not the intellectual type I guess, and found it incredibly hard to fit coursework and studying around the kids, house, and work...
