20 years ago they regularly included "DPM" in poultry food (dried poultry manure) :dave:
(they may still do so for all I know!)

not directed at you at all, just a general observation! A lot of what's been written and said has been tooth and claw class loathing (whichever way round you wish to put them!).........and has no place in what is supposedly an egalitarian society. People would find it offensive if I referr...

what I do find rather distressing is the dreadful prejudice shown against certain parts of the community, and people from certain backgrounds........we can't all be the offspring of single-parent families from Birkenhead.......as far as I understand things, we have little choice in the family into w...

that's precisely why I suggested "Wubi" - if there are any major problems, you can just delete the whole thing in Windoze! Having used it myself, and advised loads of friends to do the same, I have never found any major problems - unlike Vista which has reduced many to tears with hardware/software i...

I'll keep it really simple - I went with Wubi - it is SO simple, you download a smallish programme (about 1mb), and then fire it up in Windoze, choose "Ubuntu", and leave it to download - it's a biggie! - around 700mb, so expect a lengthy download. If by any chance the line drops, or the download ge...

the word is that it's a Vista thing - Microsnot are insisting that the "free" programmes become "pay", and another board I frequent is awash with grizzles about the new pay version........ :? Word is that "Avast" is far better  Now if you were using Linux, you'd be laughing your head off at th...

Having had several brushes with insurance companies over the years, go for the cheapest you can find, and accept the fact they're all bally crooks who'll happily take your money, and then find some damn good reason not to pay if you ever do have to claim  Some while ago, I took out household i...

oh lor! - never had the problem myself, but you could try the following - make sure the nest boxes are really dark, and have bags of straw in them - remove the eggs as many times as possible during the day, and if you can find some, replace with solid porcelain ones (that'll give 'em a headache!) :c...

ex-battery hens, or bantams, don't bother with vaccination, just give 'em bags of space, good food and water, and a nice wooden hen house (my comments on overpriced plastic ones are unprintable!). But be forewarned - it's how I started, with a few as a hobby.............
