Re: Hi from Spain (soon)
I´m further South in Andalucia, in Almeria province, in the Almanzora Valley. No idea about Valencia way, but in Andalucia, they did have quite substantial grants available for farming . to set up/improve, etc... esp if going organic. That can be for machinery , or irrigation pipes, or anything real...

Welcome
I am in Spain!
Whereabouts will you be?
And expect loads of comments from locals, as to it being the wrong time to plant whatever it is, or its not the right moon, or similar!

I did have one with a brush, years and years ago, but the kids managed to break it, and I never found one the same. the second option you mention should do the trick though

Re: Brussels sprouts apology
I have always found sprouts to be bitter, whether frozen, fresh, organic or whatever, and avoided eating them as much as possible, until someone said to put a teaspoon of sugar in , when cooking them. now I love them, maybe I´ll try growing some and see if can get them to be non-bitter. I thought th...

Re: Paper Log Makers - The Best One?
I was lent one a few years ago and did use it, but as every one has said a LOT of work for little return, but I did have stacks and stacks of paper to get rid of, at the time, so in a way it was worth it. However I then , after having to return the borrowed log maker, used some drainage pipe, cut to...

Re: Gah, Fleas!
Garlic is supposed to be good at keeping fleas at bay. I add some to the food for my cats and dogs, and not seen a flea for ages. I hjust wish it worked for ticks too!
One downside, cats got so used to the taste, They dug up all the garlic I was trying to grow!
