Bicarbonate of Soda
Everyone raves about how great this is and it has so many uses, cleaning teeth, surfaces, hair etc. I think it is great and use it to clean that bathroom, so I got to thinking about what I would do if I could no longer easily get my hands on the stuff and if I could make it myself, (thinking it migh...

Have a look at the Sheepdrove Farm website, they have a shop in Bristol too and they do online orders. I had dealings with them in the past and I really liked what they were doing there. As for rabbits and deer, lots of butchers stock farmed rabbits and farmed deer, I used to know someone who shot ...

Re: 'Cry it out ' sleep training causes brain damage
I read, (not sure where but possibly The Attachment Parenting Book) that when babies cry they release stress hormones. Research was done testing saliva that showed that even after the baby stopped crying the stress hormone levels were just as high as when the baby was crying. The baby gives up cryin...

Re: Seats reserved exclusively for men in the House of Lords
If you make the assumption that religions are innately evil and bad then I can fully understand not wanting it to be involved in politics. However I would argue that religion is innately GOOD, with goodness at it's core, and based on that assumption having religion in politics can be positive. Some ...

I am afriad I have less confidence in the State Education System than you both do. I am a teacher in a comprehensive secondary. Classes of 30 with disruptive pupils spoiling the learning for the other children, teachers who are tired from being verbally abused and physically attacked on a daily basi...

Re: Blackouts by 2015?
I used to think that Armageddon would be great and we could all go self-sufficient and live locally and everything would be wonderful, but then I realised it wouldn't be wonderful at all, it the oil/coal/gas really ran out there would be raping and looting, food shortages leading to starvation, wate...

I do shop at the true food co-op Lyn, but there butter is even more expensive than supermarket, something like £1.70 per 250grams
Thanks everyone for helping out, it is a shame that it isn't cheaper to make your own
I will look out for cream on sale though, good idea.

Re: Whole Grain Wheat Flour.
I have ground some of my own wheat kernels, but it didn't taste much different from normal flour (although I did mix it with normal flour so that could be why) I just ground them in my blending!

You can plant some winter lettuces such as lambs lettuce, some winter cabbage, and at the end of September you can plant some onion sets.
