Pheasant recipes

Okay so I thought that I would put in a request for any good pheasant recipes as I have just dropped DH off this morning to do some beating for a friend... Now comes the rant!... Got there just as the guns were arriving, and friend (who works for the land owner) was having a word about the fact that...

Ouch! Maybe if I get everyone to contribute - it could happen. If not I'll just have to carry on trawling ebay!

Martin, you've saved my Christmas. D h inherited an absolute stack of 78's from his nanna and our rafters are positively groaning with the weight. And he can't wait to hear some of them I think that I have discovered what he can have for Christmas now (maybe I should wait until I've seen the price b...

Hanging marrows and squashes

Have just discovered a fantastic quick way way of hanging said vegetables. I recieved one of those bizarre plastic netted body puff thingys (what a succinct description!) as a birthday present and wondered what the hell to do with it (apart from the obvious) when realised it is a tube. So tie knot i...

GM potato trials

here we go again eh!? Have some not so fond memories of the GM wheat trials (my first ever brush with the fuzz, when I was just a wee slip of a girl!) that they held in my area a few years ago now, and I honestly thought that judging from the reception that they got then that they would have realise...

DH and I have regular routes that we travel along that keep us in good supply of plums, apples, pears, chestnuts, blackberries, walnuts etc. Most of these are along side the lanes and small roads round our area. We make a conscious decision to avoid those growing too close to the side of the busy by...

We have a rather unique way of recycling all our 'over sexed' carrier bags - we cut them up into strips, form them into one long string and either crochet or knit them into shopping bags! When they are finally on their last legs, they can be thrown into one of those carrier bag recycling bins that y...

Having just recently bought one myself, I think that the best piece of advice is what type will work best for you. It all really depends on your circumstances. Our friends thought we were mad when we bought ours (try your local ads paper we viewed one for £50 (v. rough) and bought ours for £10...

I use white vinegar as a softener and cleanser for my DD's nappies, it softens them without reducing the absorbancy, and also freshens them beautifully. Without it she would be wearing thoroughly crunchie nappies - not nice!

Milk bottle tops

After having gone on about still have a milkman so have a wealth of foil caps. I heard the Gardening Guru Bob Flowerdew on GQT (Gardeners Question Time) suggest that we should keep the caps to glue onto the tops of canes, as this will help keep the weather out of them thus making them last longer an...
