Re: Record for unfinished craft stuff??
Hmmm ... there's the cherries tapestry I started about 26 years ago age about seven, for a pincushion (honestly, attention span of a gnat) ... ... the shirt pattern I cut out a mere seventeen years ago intending to make me smart for my first 'job' or rather work experience ... ... The feet of...

Make guitar & mandoilin straps?
Hello  Tis the season of even more singing with the children at school that usual, and I have no strap for either my guitar or mandolin. My arms ache! I play sitting down at home but that's asking for trouble with 420 children wriggling about  Just wondered if anyone had any ideas...

Re: Fruit teas and tisanes
I love spearmint & chamomile together, also love sage for a sore throat and lemonbalm is nice for headaches. I've not much experience of making teas from dried fruit but I like rhubarb, lemon & ginger as a cordial ... though that's another winter warmer one, not really refreshing like you as...

Re: Anybody Survived Taking Iron Tablets?
Aaaaaaaaaaaargh the dreaded iron tablets :shaking: I like Floradix but can't afford it all the time so take a bottle every couple of months or so. I take regular vitamins and minerals with iron in and try & have a big green fest at least a couple of times a week e.g. piles of spinach/ watercress...

Not just me then  I don't know how that helps but somehow it does :hugish: Bonnie, alas Archie's lairdy-loveliness had nothing to do with it as he wasn't even in that episode having been replaced by some inferior numpty whose name I can't even remember & who looked like he'd just walked off...

Re: get the right zipper foot or put zip in by hand?
Thanks everyone! Thankyou for the zipperfoot pics & tips, I sort of get it now I think :thumbright: I am using the centre cloths from the tables at our wedding ... I made them so they would be a good size to make cushions from after but then we had to add an extra table as I did my sums wrong so...

Ladies: Spatial awareness problems pre-period?!
Hello, after tearing myself away from the settee watching monarch of the glen I have just reversed my car into the wheelie bin. If hubby was here he would have realised by now that my period is due  Why at this time every month do I crash around the place like a 'baby rhinocerous', covering my...

Keith! This is good news. I have no idea why you need a special foot for zips but every time I tell anyone what I'm doing they say "Have you got a zipper foot" and I say "No" and they tut-tut and shake their heads.
I am happy to hear you can use a normal foot.

Thank you :hugish: Now I just need to find the zips ahem ...I must have been tidying up again, can't find the dratted things anywhere! AHA! I spy them :pirate: Anyone have any thoughts on how to know which zipper foot to buy? As I'm wanting to do some draught excluders next and given the state...

get the right zipper foot or put zip in by hand?
Hello  I am trying to make some seat pads for our dining room chairs. So far I have sewed three sides round some old cushion pads, so it LOOKS like a seat pad. cushionforweb.jpg I bought zips & tapes to tie the cushions to the chair spindles but am stuck now! Apparantly different sewing ma...
