Re: Picking Nettles

I've had the same thoughts about the wild garlic growing in my local woods, it's everywhere. I just have to get over it or won't get to enjoy it. Can't let it all go to waste.

Re: Mint, and lemon

Also I spend so much on mint to add to salads. Cous cous salad with lots of mint, coriander, lemon juice and olive oil is beautiful.

I hope you're getting along ok. Sounds to me that you are pretty clued up about what you are doing and how to go about it. Interesting reading about your experience. Best wishes.

Re: Get rid of stinky smoke smells?

I here that citrus works quite well in getting rid of all strange smells. Vinegar too. I love the smell of lavender and I once met an old lady that would pick it from her garden, dry it and then burn it in the fireplace. Makes the house smell lovely.

Re: How do I get rid of a patch of bamboo?

I hear that vinegar soaked onto the chopped stalks is quite effective in killing bamboo. May take a few attempts though. Best of luck

Re: Rhubarb

I have to agree with Mike, no special requirements for this delicious vegetable (although I regard it as a fruit....) have to say though it does make me very gassy which cant be good for the environment......

Re: Vegetables in boggy ground

I would definitely recommend having a go at growing watercress, I used to live in Hampshire which is where I believe the best watercress is farmed. Um watercress & cheese sardines :)

Re: Is this Rosemary?

I grow both plants and have to always have to double check that I'm not putting lavender in my cooking, rosemary is delicious in dishes but lavender is definitely best left for other wonderful uses.

Well done, your pots look lovely, I used to grow them years ago and you have inspired me to grow them again, I can just taste them boiling hot and drenched in butter :)

I absolutely love minty teas, so dry the leaves and then just make lots and lots of mint tea, and all for free.....

Re: Please come to see me at WVAT

I really like the art trails. There are a few that take place in my area every summer, good chance to see what other artists are upto. They've turned into proper events with local cafes, pubs and local community members getting involved.
