Re: Forum moving-sorry for any hiccups

Aha I had wondered why 'view new posts' and 'active posts' were not working the last few times I've looked in. Good luck with the forum moving!

You are mad!

I agree about the bugs - it's been fantastic. Just seen a spider kill a Large White though and that one I was not going to save!

Must go get me specs on and go egg squidging again.....

Re: Blackcurrant pruning

Cripes Boboff, I get 8kg easily from just 2 bushes!!

This year I left most of the black and redcurrants on the bushes and they are still there. No birds seem to like them. :(

Re: Blackcurrant pruning

Oh and they are still both covered in fruit because I only picked a small amount and no birds are interested in either red or black currants, which means a thousand young plants to weed out next year.

Re: Blackcurrant pruning

I prune every year to make more space because even though my two redcurrants and two blackcurrants are spaced out more than 'the book' says, they still grow into each other. I prune during the dormant season according to my RHS book and not now like Monty Don does. However they never grow like 'the ...

Boboff is missing me! That's nice. Re: Bird song

My blackbirds sing "where's Jeremy?", my Blackcaps end their song with "ticketyboo" and the Chaffies here end their song with "sekeee-ah" whereas some, particularly in England, sing "boudeee-ah". Which could almost be translated into "gonna eat ya". ...

Re: Bonjour from France

Hi Caroline - all well here and trying to get the garden ready in between the rain! So funny you are complaining about the red tape - mind you, so do all the French people I know. But we just get used to it after a while - it is no good trying to battle the system. Hi again David - wel...

You will see it if you 'View New Posts' rather than 'Active Topics'.

There was always a glitch in the system where the foraging section didn't show up in Active Topics, so I guess it has never been fixed.

Re: I'm Back - long self indulgent rant alert

I'm glad everything worked out for you in the end, Bonnie. I wondered what happened with the floristry business.

So pleased that your Ishness has come back and an allotment sounds like a perfect compromise. Good luck with it! :flower:
