Re: Don't forget E-cards are GREAT!

I also send a mix of paper and e-cards as suits the person I am in touch with and none of my friends have so far been rude enough to refuse a message sent with love and chosen with care and the money saved in buying cards and stamps this year has bought school supplies for a year for three children ...

Re: Christmas Fair - what a joke

We have been working at craft fairs for about 14 years and we are finding that more of them should be called cr*p fairs now,we design and make silver jewellery as Dennis is a self trained silversmith and it is so sad to see people taking the time to come and being faced with rows of stalls of import...

Re: Little things that really annoy you!

Having to pay BT £4.50 for the privilege of paying my bill in cash,I don't want any more dd's and why should I have to lots of people on small incomes work with cash as a way to stay out of trouble and they are being charged more for being responsable. :flower:

Re: paper log maker.

We made about 150 this year and they burn for around an hour in our open fire, they are also great for restarting a fire that has almost gone out. I tear the newspaper into strips and put them into the large flexable buckets that we have for the garden then fill with water and leave for a day this se...

Re: Wind turbines on your door step?

I have no objections to change but can see a world of difference between seeing tubines on a hilltop and having a load a few hundred yard from my front door. There is an application for twenty a few miles from me and the landowner seems to live hundreds of miles away and most of those being put up l...

Re: Wind turbines on your door step?

I have no objections to wind turbines as such and agree that they are needed and I don't mind them a mile or so from any house but around here they seem to be putting them too near other peoples houses while the people who are makeing the money from them seem to live nowhere near them. I think that ...

Re: Wind turbines on your door step?

Sorry to tell you this but when I spoke to the planning dept a few months ago I was told that each application is judged on it's merits and that there is no set distance and to go by the amount going up here we will soon be taking off into the wide blue yonder when the wind is high. Farmers and land...

eggs ?

I was cleaning out a corner of the garden today and when I lifted out a roll of plastic mesh I found that the end of the roll had been filled in with a large ball of wet moss and there were four white eggs in the middle of it,they were about the size of a robin egg,the tube was standing upright in a...

Re: Gratuitous Gushing about River Cottage Everday, Thurs 8p
