Hotbeds

Post: # 278281Post Sadoldhippy »

Hi All
I was wondering if anyone had any experience of hotbeds. I am wanting to make some, but have never made them before. How much fresh manure do you actually need to get sufficient mass to generate the heat?
Any info would be useful

Thanks

Two interesting articles:

One here is technical

And the other is a short description of what one gardener did

I think that both articles would be a good starting point. :wink:

I just love the idea but the physical work of getting my horses fresh stuff to where i want to grow defeats me.
I imagine it could work wonders where you are up there! Good luck and I'd be interested to hear how you get on :wave:

@Flo thanks for the links.
@Sue I hope it will, I am aiming to make one or two this winter, I have friends who have ponies and I have a pull-along wagon :-)
