Can any potatoes be planted now, in December, in the ground or "containers"?

I think it's too late, but if you've got some chitting then stick them in a container of compost and see.

I'd keep them somewhere fairly sheltered and just keep the compost moist.

I’ve grown spuds in cardboard boxes. I did it when I took over a piece of overgrown land. I didn’t have time to clear the weeds so just popped the boxes on top. They did disintegrate but I just ended up with potatoes that were earthed up and the weeds smothered.
