In curries, golden milk, make cookies you can pretty much use it anywhere you might use ginger, or with it.

I assume all of those are for fresh turmeric. I did wonder about drying some and putting it through my coffee grinder.
Mind you, I have yet to harvest it, so I have no idea how much I will get off 4 plants.
When I get a spare few minutes I'll find out.

I've actually never had fresh turmeric, only dried.

Yes, but you can use dried as well. Slice, or grate, fresh turmeric as you would fresh ginger. Don't forget to replant some!

I have found a way to stimulate strawberries for a second crop; let the sheep in to graze them to ground level. On a serious note I may actually try really hard pruning post crop next year.

That used to be common practice years ago when strawberries were grown in fields. The foliage was mown off when picking was finished for an autumn crop.
Now it's perpetual fruiting varieties that fulfil that better.

My heated greenhouse is beginning to pay off.
First small cook of French beans for St Patrick's day dinner tonight, together with the last of the overwintering new potatoes from the tunnel.
This variety is Speedy and it is quite fast, they were sown 10 weeks ago.

Wow - I envy you - I love green beans, but refuse to buy them when they've come from halfway round the world! Have just been sorting out my seeds and will get some started early. So important this year to grow plenty of veg - there won't be much to buy in the shops, unless a miracle happens and suddenly loads of British people decide it's good to earn your living harvesting veg...

But my garden surprises me again and again. Some weeks ago I found parsley (under sort of half-cover) that I can't remember ever planting there. And today I realised that those little green plants that are filling up more and more space under that same cover are lambs lettuce! Now I do remember sowing that last year, and never saw anything germinating. Bit slow, but very welcome now. I do hate that watery stuff they call lettue that you can get in the shops.

First frost this morning, only light but a little early in the season. Not harvesting much - the last capsicums is about all. I have two fig trees and two loquat trees ready to plant out now that the weather is cooling off.

Yes, I have the same problem with Calabrese broccoli, they just keep producing more spears. And some fool keeps planting more.
Started digging this season's new potatoes last week, I should have enough planted successionally to keep us going until autumn. Also small new turnips make a nice change.
Not happy with my courgettes though, trying a new (to me) variety and after producing about 3 fruits per plant have now stopped. Still producing male flowers but no females.
