Lemon as rust remover

Post: # 289693Post fruitfly »

I've mixed some lemon juice and salt as a rust remover on an old hankie - how long does it take for the rust to come out? There's lots of advice on using lemon juice or vinegar, but none say how long to leave the acid on.

I don't know. I suppose you need to keep rubbing a patch until it comes off. I would have thought you'd need more than what is soaked up by one hankie though. A spray bottle might be better (depending entirely on what size rust patch you're dealing with, of course).
