Ok so I have bought mylocalturbine.com and HAve a place to host it, so now what do I do.

I was thinking as there is now government money out there to fund alternative energy projects that pehaps I could get some cash to help set it up and advertise it.

My idea is for a site that offers free advice and brings peopleand sites like martins together. A place where people can log on see if there is a turbine project in their area and see if they can get on board and contribute to the overall cost of their street/village or whatever getting one.

I would have though that I need to get some sort of business plan together then what? who hands out these funds?

start at EST - they're a really nice helpful bunch, they should be able to point you in the right direction! - ace idea (and not just because I'm interested) - I want to see communities getting together to have their own power source - would be good for their communities too - getting together to do something really worthwhile - perhaps a rekindling of the "wartime spirit" - because that, after all is what it is - a war against our own ignorance!

It's a great idea. We've talked about it with our neighbours but funds are (as you know) somewhat low at the moment. We often get powercuts in winter due to the snow and high winds etc... once we were without power for the best part of a week. It makes absolute sense to have alternatives in place and if they can be shared with others then all the better.
