Use for old speakers

Post: # 205271Post trikerdrew »

Hi,

I'm always messing about on cars and bikes. Nuts and bolts always get lost, D'oh!! :banghead:

Anyway on with the recycle bit.

If you grab a pair of speakers and break the cabinets down they have nice big magnets. These removed and glued onto the back of a oven tray, any tin in fact -instant metal parts holder, angle is no problem.

Simple solution to a niggly problem.

Also have a speaker magnet to hold the garden gate open!

Regards

Drew

Snap !! Except mine is to keep the gate closed, and my magnet is from a microwave oven ... even stronger magnets. :thumbright:
It's just the ticket on my gate as I can just push it open even when I have my arms full, but it stays firmly closed even in very windy weather.

Can you explain that to me as if I was a four year old as I can't figure out why I'd want magnets glued onto my baking trays? :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

Easy ... the "tin" tray is actually made of steel, so if you attach a magnet to it (anywhere - but the bottom is good) then the whole tray becomes magnetised.
With a magnetised tray, all the nuts and bolts or anything made of iron or steel will stick to it and if you accidentally kick the tray it won't spill small parts all over the floor.
