Ish Wiltshire Meet?

Post: # 192433Post Thomzo »

It occurred to me recently just how many wonderful Ishers there are in and around Wiltshire these days. Do you guys all fancy meeting up sometime soon? I don't mind organising something.

If you let me know roughly where you are and what sort of time would be best for you (weekday, weekend, lunch, evening etc) and dates to avoid (PM me if you prefer). I will see if I can find a suitable pub, near a station if needs be, and suggest some times.

We can catch up, swap stories and, if it's in the next month or so, swap seedlings and other produce.

Of course non Wiltshire Ishers would be welcome too

Hope to see you soon
Zoe

Hi Zoe.

Fab idea, there are quite a few of us now!!

You know where I am lol. I am quite happy to try and fit in date wise with everyone else that can make it. Nearer to home would be better for me (I hope I don't sound too selfish) purely because of the baby.

I will Pm you re coffee.

That sounds really good. I would definately be up for it.

I am north wilts - Chippenham(ish). Am bogged down in exam hell at the moment, but if you let me know when you are thinking of, I will try and juggle revision days!

Sounds good, we could give you a lift if you like snapdragon, and meet the others in the north of Wiltshire Somewhere. I don't know that area very well so can't really offer any suggestions.

I know, its a lovely village. Its more affordable and easier to get to the M4 for hubby here. Plus hubbys parents live here and they need a bit of help with there garden etc. But I know where i would rather live.

Always seem to be bogged down with something these days but it would be shame to miss out on something like this, so would hope to shuffle. Weekends are always full.

Easy for me to get to Swindon, chippenham on the train if there were, er well any lifts going from there. I really like Laycock just to throw a suggestion into the mix.

Hi Andy,

I can give you a lift as I am just outside Chippenham - or work in Bristol so if it was an afternoon and I had been at work, could even give you a lift from Bris.

Lacock is gorgeous, so I would second that but am flexible?

Well, this sounds like a plan coming together.

I'll put Lacock in the hat for a location. There is garden centre with a cafe or we could picnic there if the weather's nice but does anyone know a pub?

I can certainly give a lift from Swindon direction (Nikki?) and pick up from the station wherever we end up.

I was thinking of sometime in May. It sounds like a lunchtime during the week is favourite at the moment. Is that good for everyone?

Zoe

ps. I know the Wylye Valley well having lived in Warminster for 9 years. My Mother's still there.

Thanks for the offer Zoe hun :hugish: , but I will have to bring the two smalls with me. I will also need to be back for the school run. You would be more than welcome to come with us, but will totally understand if you do not.

Do any of the jam/chutney makers need any jars? As I have more than I will use.
