Next Wiltshireishers meet?
Well, we haven't had one for ages (unless you count the mini-meet that Sunflowergal and I had this morning). So, usual rules apply: anybody welcome, you don't have to live in Wiltshire; location TBD depending on who's coming; expect to picnic in the rain.
Shall we say Sunday 24th July?
Anybody up for it?

I would totally be there if it were closer and cheaper to get.

Great, sounds like we'll have a good crowd. Any preferences on location? Lacock was lovely if the weather's nice, or perhaps we should book a pub just in case?

There's a picnic site at Blacklands on top of the hill between Calne and Devizes or there is another in Savernake Forest. Pubwise there is the Barge at Honeystreet.

The Barge sounds like it should be on the canal? That sounds a good place if it's wet and a picnic if it's nice.

The Barge sounds great! We've been there twice in the last 6 weeks and really like it there. It is right on the canal and has fantastic views across the fields to the white horse. The pub is run by a community(cost £20 per year)and anyone can join. Its quite a hip happening type place, usually have live music on a weekend at night, campsite at the back of the pub with a permanant yurt which is rented out to groups or for accomo.

Re: Next Wiltshireishers meet?
Sounds like a plan then if everyone is happy. For those who don't know The Barge at Honeystreet. it's just south of Alton Barnes which is between Devizes and Pewsey. It's a great pub next to the Kennet and Avon canal and the centre for those who believe in crop circles.
Do we have any idea of what sort of time (Ish).

Re: Next Wiltshireishers meet?
Just googled it and it looks like a great place to meet. Are they likely to get busy on a Sunday lunchtime? Should we plan to get there when they open at 12? Whoever gets there first, bags a big table and put something suitably Ishy on the table so that we can all spot it (although most of us have met some of us before - if that makes any sense).

If we can get a head count then it might be worth booking a table. If it's nice then we can sit outside on the benches.
