Turmeric

Does anyone know what happened in the end between US and India after the former's attempt to copyright use of turmeric whose properties had been known and used for for centuries if not millennia in India - it was a couple of decades ago I don't know why I thought of it now.

A bit of a late reply, but India won the case in 1997 - the patent application was thrown out.
Your question brought me out in a sweat in case I'd been eating illegal rhogan josh all these years. Or maybe that was the chili.
EDIT: Rogan josh. How do those rogue H's get in there?
