Getting rid of norton anti virius

Tomorrow's World was a show on BBC TV about innovations and tech stuff and I thought a good name for our computing and tech section.

I had Norton on my last computer which really slows the computer down...my mate who works in IT for a big company now swears by, and uses Avast antivirus...it only uses a small amount of memory and sits in the background moitoring any website that may have trojans, virus's etc..
It even updates itself AND it's free to the home user.

Both my computers are now protected by Avast and i havent had a problem now for the the last 2 years
Everything can be used for something..never throw owt away!

thanks for posting the norton removal tool, my new compoopter came with norton and i wanted to get rid of it to install my own virus scanner.

unfortunately as I'm a dozy twerp I've lost the disk for that so until I find it I'll be running AVG free plus windows firewall.
