i planted purple brocolie at the time stated on the packet apr - may, starting from seed on the window seal then out into the garden, it states on the packet that they should of been harvest mar - april, to date i have not seen any sign of the the broc,s, heads they just keep growing with large leaves / stems.
do you think that this is a redundant plant or should i persever, as they take up a lot of room i dont mind to get rid off and plant something else befor it gets to late in the season.
this is my first time at growing this plant what do you think.

Re: purple brocs
I am assuming your talking about purple sprouting .... As far as I know they wont have any heads for ages ...
they don't have big heads just small ones and stand over winter so you can keep picking it fresh ... well thats the we do it

Re: purple brocs
hold tight there Andiewill!! Your brocolli won't be ready for harvesting 'til next year.(late winter),& they'll need plenty of room in the garden.....approx 2 ft all round. Harvest the shoots when they are about 6" long. They also freeze very well. good luck.
its either one or the other,or neither of the two.
