Hi Everybody! Let me start by saying, "It wasn't my fault! I'm a lifelong Democrat."

This is such a comfortable site. I immediately felt right at home. I found you from a gardening group on Facebook.

My name is Phoebe and I am an apartment-dwelling urban gardener with a little patch of dirt behind a Catholic girls school about a mile from where I live. (It used to be right across the street, but I've moved - but not too far.)

I've been gardening organically off & on since I was 8 years old. Because I am so connected to the earth (Taurus, you know), I need to play in the dirt fairly regularly.

Thanks for being here. I look forward to getting to know you.

It's a community garden hosted by a convent. There's a statue of Jesus blessing all who enter. :-) It's really quite lovely. The nuns LOVE their flowers, for sure.

was going to ask about your garden, but someone beat me to it!.
i have got myself an allotment this yr for the first time and am loving it.....its kinda like the garden you have only without the statue of Jesus!. mines rented off the local council.

Thanks for the welcome, kiwi. Glad to know I'm not the only urban gardener here. I used to belong to a community garden run by a small city just north of where I live. It was $60 USD for the season plus 3 hours total of community service for a nice-sized patch. There were no Jesus statues there, either. : )

Do you have pictures? Can we post pictures here? I'd love to see what a London community garden looks like!

morning Phoebe, i do have some photos, but there isnt much to see really as i'm still in the process of fighting weeds with trying to grow the odd thing in the meantime.
