carrot seed saving - anyone had success saving the seed

Post: # 153914Post Chicken6 »

Has anyone had success doing this.

I realise that they can't be in flower near any wild carrot, anne lace or what ever it's called which means I have to let them flower at home and not the allotment.

I have planted 37 roots in the garden saved from last year.

I haven't tried it because I keep hearing not to bother. Apparently carrot seeds don’t keep longer than a year. I put all my spares on Freecycle.

Edit: how daft am I, I read wrong. Thought you ment saving seeds not seed saving. Oh dear, don't mind me.
