can i brag please

Post: # 155689Post Russian Doll »

since moving into my new flat i must admit i did have resevations about the no garden thing tbh..however...since moving all my pots etc here and shuffling plants etc round on my balconey which is not the largest..i have got ..a big pot of potatoes, strawberries in a basket...on the wall i have garlic and peppers growing..i also have in various pots and containers....tomatoes, mint sage and thyme, chillies, carrots, peas and auburgines...plus some nice flowers to attract the bees
i also did have nasturniums but they are being slowly destroyed by caterpillars....which i would destroy but my daughter really wants to see the growth cycle from caterpillar to butterfly so im sacricficing them this year lol

i love my little balconey and am just waiting for darren to fix some more shelves in the kitchen so i can grow some more bits in there

so yes im proud of myself this year

Sounds lovely! :flower:

And that has made all the difference.

Good for you gal! Keep up the good work!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

You can't really, because they feed on specific plants. If you put one on a plant that it doesn't eat, it will probably either starve or make its way back to the plants that it likes to munch!

Anyway cabbage whites, gooseberry sawflyand spindleberry caterpillars are bloody horrible pests (not to mention the pine processionary which is deadly to pets if they eat them and a very toxic skin irritant to humans/animals).

well, why not identify them, then put them on plants they like?
hehe, we have tiger moth caterpillars here, they are really funny, but if they crawl up your leg you get a rash for weeks :blob6: (experimental smillying)
alright, for little gardens and stuff they are a pest.
As I ping from tree to tree I wonder... why do I seem to have transformed into a pinging tree-dwelling thing?
