Bottling Nettle Ale

Post: # 156733Post mattphillips78 »

hi everyone!

i have been making my own nettle ale from nettles at the allotment - but i am having problems with bottling as used lemonade bottles from m and s , but one of them exploded recently and have lost a bit of confidence in storage. this time i am using empty lorina swingtop bottles from their lemonade drinks, they look great and seem a lot thicker and had stored lemonade successfully under pressure.

Has anyone any tips which bottles to use and has anyone used Lorina bottles with success?

thanks, matthew phillips

Good way to use those insidious plastic bottles including the milk ones. Watch them and when they get tight just slack off the top and let some of the pressure out. If they do burst you get the beer over the floor but no glass shattering.
