machine to seperate tomato pulp???????

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

A sieve?
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Yup, a sieve is what I use too!

Yes, they're called spremipomodori.

We have a hand-powered one that does the trick. Seeds of Italy sell them, but they're really plasticy. If you can find a cast iron one, snap it up.

What do you separate from what? I just cook the lot, minus the skins which I skin first (after freezing they just pop off).

The seeds make the pasata bitter. These machines separate out the skins and the pips.

Last year, Iread a few reviews from people who'd been using the machine and all were very positive but I couldn't remember what it was called. Didn't need one last year due to blight.
