Wow - your soil is really black! My veg patch is covered in weeds but it is too wet to hoe or dig - not often I say that is it?!

Nice one. So, out of interest, do you not grow anything much in those areas over winter or do you choose to allow the soil some recovery time and feed it somehow ready for the spring's plantings?

The patch closest to the camera is newly aquired, and it was full of all the usual stuff that needed forking out and burning! The greens on it belong to the guy who gave up that bit of plot. Seeing as he's paid the rent up to March, I'll look after them so's he has purple sprouting for his Christmas dinner! Most of it will be potates next year, and hopefully a greenhouse!A&A wrote:Nice one. The other bit has spring cabbage, spring onions, Japanese red onions and garlic planted, with brussels still to come (and give away ) and late purple sprouting.

Yes, if you don't already have one, the greenhouse would be a great addition. It looks like a really nice-sized plot - look forward to seeing more photos as you develop it!
