We're moving to Cornwall!!
Yes, we finally got the nod to move into our lovely little stone cottage in SW Cornwall... actually it's a teeny, tiny village in the middle of nowhere just outside St Just and we move in on 8th January!!
We had more or less given up on the place as it seemed to be taking forever but as usual it was down to people not doing their job and giving us references and when we called them it was the usual "well we haven't heard anything from your agents" when we bloody well know they had! Anyway a firm kick up the butt from us eventually got everything sorted and our Landlord gave us the big thumbs up!!
We're both so excited, it means we won't really have a normal Christmas as we'll have a flat full of boxes but we don't care whatsoever!
I know it isn't going to suddenly make all our problems go away but it will ease the stress of living in London as it's killing me and hopefully OH's lungs will improve a little more as they aren't quite healing as fast as they should in the pollution of London which is a bit of a worry! Once the hassle of crowds and violence (we've recently had a stabbing and a mutilated body found on the common not two streets away not to mention several shootings ) and all manner of other stresses have been alleviated hopefully my depression will get back to a manageable level as at the moment it's really bad.
So, on the 8th January we'll be spending our first night in our tiny two bedroomed stone cottage, cracking open a bottle of Champagne we bought specially and beginning a while new life
Let's hope we don't freak out because it's too quiet lol
Oh and we have a garden... it's only a front garden as there is no back garden... actually there's no back door just the moorlands and then the sea lol but we're going to turn it into a big herb garden!

We can't wait to see the end of 2009 that's for sure, it's been a rather miserable year for us and this move is going to be a huge boost.
The only photo we have is the one from the agents website as we were so excited we forgot to take photos when we visited lol
We've even got a palm tree lol

Hee hee yep just one more house either side but the one of the left (in the photo) is empty at the moment as the couple that own ours also own that one as well and are 'doing it up'. They've put night storage heating in ours so at least we'll be warm lolsnapdragon wrote:OOOOOooh Happy new Home

I cannot wait to move in and get settled, it's been my goal since I was 14 to move to Cornwall and I thought I'd only get there when I retired!
If you look out of our kitchen window and the second bedroom it's just moors then the sea about a mile away-ish.
OH has already bought his shore / sea fishing kit and is raring to go fishing, there's an organic butchers about 5 minutes away and farmers markets all around on varying days and... well... I have always felt at home there and like I should be there and nowhere else...
Of course give it a month and I will be sick of banging my head on the beam that you have to duck under going up or down the stairs lol
Thanks for the good wishes

It looks lovely and now you've mentioned the view and the sea, AND the 2nd bedroom you might find yourselves with a few visitors!StripyPixieSocks wrote:If you look out of our kitchen window and the second bedroom it's just moors then the sea about a mile away-ish.
