what have you cooked today

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Thanks MMM ... I see from the link that I claimed I was going to try the lentil soup in November ... ah well, only March now, so not bad going for me

Susie, I have made a batch of your honey oat bars every week since I discovered them also around November I think and they have totally replaced flapjack here.
Deeeeelishious. I am not a big sultana fan so I use cranberries & linseed instead. You are already famous amongst my family & friends who all adore them.

Might go and have one now in fact ...

I did succeed in making a very nice rabbit stew last night, they are only £3 at my butchers and think I have made enough to last me days! Had no idea one rabbit would go so far!. I can still eat well on a dreadful budget

Vegetable pie with cheese and herbs in the crust, with stuffing balls and whatever veggies were in the fridge at the time as a filling (though it works very well with leeks and either butternut squash or sweet potato.

more bulk cooking, I made 28 faggots today, so 7 more homemade 'ready meals' in the freezer for the days I get in tired.

We had friends over for the weekend and got a free range chicken for Sunday, went to cook it yesterday and it had started to turn  ie funny smell skin had a slimey feel :pukeright:
So what do I do all the shops are shut, everything else is prepared :? so I googled a question about chicken bacteria and apparantly thorough cooking should kill all bacteria.
So I kept quiet and Sue and our guests thought it was fine :silent:
So its Monday morning and we are still alive :pirate:

Well if I ever have roast chook at yours I shall be personally inspecting under the bacon!

I just wonder what Pelmetman's wife will say if she reads his posting (I think sometimes it is her posting, not him). That could be amusing.

Hi MMM

Thankfully yes we are all OK. I will defintely be checking under the bacon and everywhere else next time

Suppose it is quite confusing if it is me or Dave replying. As a rule I usually use the blue/yellow flower smilie when it is from me. :flower: Not sure if there are any other couples using this site!
