I've also noticed that you have the same plug sockets as the UK, that's saved you a fortune and a lot of time not having to change plugs on all your electrical appliances!

What colour have you chosen?

Re: So while the cat's away.....
Ooo... he'll notice!! Or else.....
MMM, I chose a cream colour - I got some weathershield for the exterior & had it coloured - it looks very much like a fresh clotted cream - black 'bits' & windows & doors - looks quite nice, I'll take a pic when it's finished.
So I'm not a fan of having different colours for different rooms, the long term plan is to have cream walls in every room & add colour via the accessories.
The new paint was the same code, but looks like someone added a sponnful of coffee, so it's a stronger colour, but it's still nice & LOADS better than the sickly green.
I might not get all the cupboards done mind, I have to take the doors off to paint them, or I can't get to all the edges & I only have room for a few doors at a time while they are drying! I thought I'd crack on with the top cupboards & leave the floor cupboards to finish over the next couple of days.
I did the window edges & then decided that the window frame itself looked very drab left brown, so I've whitened that too - (half) finished pics later tonight I think!!
OK, not a 60 minute makeover, more like a 60 hour makeover, but I will be so grateful not to have that green kitchen anymore

Re: So while the cat's away.....
Drum Roll please!!
OK, there are some bits that need a 2nd coat, some need a 3rd
There's also the bottom cupboards that need doing totally... but the kitchen is back together again & everything else can be done over the next few days at my leisure
So... Here goes.... Note that I have filled the edges of the trunking, thereby 'bricking up' the spiders behind

Yes, I know the cupboard door is still wonky - the piece of wood that holds the hinge is non-existent & will be replaced

Not the conventional veg rack, but I don't have the room!

And below is a reminder of what it was like.... and still needs doing!!

There
Now all I have to do is wait another half hour & he'll be home... blimey!

Sue, I'll setlle for another coffee - I don't drink, well not often anyway.
He loves it! His jaw nearly hit the floor, and I can't even tell you ... oh bum... he said...
"HOW the f^*k have you done this in 3 days? Did you have help?"
AND... I've even got more than enough paint left over for the bathroom!
Now, when's he back to Dublin again... ?

Davey, I feel all 'posh' now!!
A nice looking, clean & tidy kitchen with shiny taps that turn off & don't drip, proper water flow & no spiders & now the outside of the house has been painted AND the front wall, it feels like a new house

Great stuff, Julie.
All you need now is another socket on the right side of the kitchen so that you can put that toaster where it belongs
Whoops - I take that back. That's what the trunking's for, isn't it? In that case, perfect job!!!!!!!!!!!!
