Re: Another use for courgettes
We've been tossing them in the food dehydrator with various spices - just did a curry batch and a orange-teryaki batch. We are considering the curry chips for yule gifts later in the year.
We are still picking faster than we can process.

Courgette gratin
oooh, pasta, I hadn't thought of that, the kids would go for that. Glad you liked it!
Re: Another use for courgettes
I've been making batchs of Courgette curry and freezing down.
http://www.deliaonline.com/community/yo ... curry.html . But have doubled up on all the spices cos it was a bit on the bland side at first.
We're having courgette and pasta tonight, but I must have a go at the bread and chocolate cake.

Re: Another use for courgettes
Oh what a shame. You'll just have to eat it all yourself.
Which recipe have you made, plain or chocolate?
I've just turned a week's worth into soup so I need to wait for a few more courgettes but I'm going to try the BBC choc one.

I have just made and eaten (two portions
) of this gorgeous creamy courgette lasagne :

It is one of those recipes that you can play around with. Today I diced the courgettes to give more crunch and used mozarella cheese instead of ricotta. Delicious

Re: Another use for courgettes
Oh that looks easy (especially with cheat's tom sauce
) I love lasagne but never make it these days cos it's such a faff with having to make a tomato sauce AND a white sauce that I can't be bothered, by the time I get to making the bolognese type of sauce I might as well just eat spag bol!

Oh I wish I had a glut of tomatoes, lots of green ones but nothing ripening.

Re: Another use for courgettes
I'm making the bbc choc courgette cake today, will let you know how it went - it's for my French neighbours who are coming to 'tea' - we've been teaching them how to say things like 'a nice cup of tea' and 'bollocks'.
I know that makes no sense whatsoever
but my English neighbour gives them English lessons so we being rather wicked keep teaching them naughty things to say in class, like 'dunno' and 'gonna' - it was a bit hard to explain the meaning of bollocks in the rubbish sense - one said "It's a bollocks cat, is that right?". Ummm not quite.

Reminds me of my Thai daughter-in-law who has quite a good command of English, but learned from more unusual sources! I tried to explain what a "lie" was and eventually, realsiation dawned and she said " oh you mean bullshit!!"
Quite off topic but as compensation I will try making the chocolate cake at the weekend!

I made zucchini boats stuffed with hamburger and bread last night, basically like a meatloaf stuffed into a hollowed out zucchini with parm sprinkled on top, yum!
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
