It stopped snowing about an hour ago -ish. It's now lovely winter sunshine on the snow and mountains - heaven.

But I'm still staying in near the fire

Nothing - just normal frosty below freezing winter temps with lots of sunshine. It's only snowed here twice in 6 years, of the kind that settles and never more than about 2" (which is enough to see us snowed in for a week if it doesn't thaw!).

So partly grateful but also sad cos I like the first snowfall of the year - after that forget it, when you've dug out a path from your door to your gateway 5 times in a winter you get really, really fed up with it (from when I used to live in the foothills of the Jura mountains)! But then the snowplough came along our private shared driveway every morning at 8am like clockwork, so is a tad different to living in Brittany where they don't know what a snowplough is!

Whiteout again now. Snowed most of yesterday afternoon too so currently knee deep. Need to get to the shop for some provisions but can't get the car out so becoming a bit of a pain. Also can't get to work so losing cash!

We have about 2 to 3 inches at the mo and light showers forecast today and tomorrow. It's not too bad for getting out and about and if you drive carefully you can get about okay. Must admit it looks beautiful and taken lots of photos for next years Christmas cards  .

Barely stopped all day here. I made it to work only to be sent home at lunch time (no complaints!)

Hubby didn't make it and spent hours shovelling snow so he try and get the car out tomorrow.

think we may have as much as 20 inches out there, with more in the drift bits!

Earlier today I was sitting looking out of the window at the two or so inches of snow. My aged P had just rung asking if we were snowed in, and I'd told her that it's winter, we have a bit of snow, that's normal, why is everyone going on and on ad nauseam about it?

Should have kept my mouth shut. There are now two lorries stuck on the road outside and there's knocking on a foot of snow on the ground. Hey ho - such is life.

No snow in NE Brittany - it always falls in central Brittany.
