What's the roads like please?

Post: # 217579Post becks77 »

Hi Everyone,
We are supposed to be going to Eden Project tomorrow, 21st, but desperately need info on the state of the roads please. The news today said 4" snow had fallen and more heavy snow was due today, the worst being in Dorset and Devon but if anyone could give us some info on wether to start our journey or not, we'd be very pleased
Many thanks
Becks

I can't help Becks but good luck whatever you do and take care! Is there not a website with some info on road conditions/traffic, like the AA or something?

Thanks MMM, have decided to put off at least till tomorrow, maybe. I'm really not keen as we could get stuck in between here and there, but OH wants to try. However it has given us the opportunity to go to the Burning of the Clocks http://www.samesky.co.uk/celebrate/burning-the-clocks
and to have a super celebration Yuletide dinner
Happy Yule averyone

Hope you have a good time when you do get there! Don't know what Yule is from a box of frogs though, other than it's usually a chocolate log eaten at Xmas.

Hi Becks,

The Motorways are ok but the M5 was down a lane yesterday. Its the small roads that are the problem and they are not getting gritted (not much point with snow) so around here (North Somerset) it is pretty dodgy. Lots of offices in Devon and Somerset have had to close because the roads are really not safe(apparently).

Honestly I probably would worry about a journey that long in this weather, especially with kids but then I drive a 10 year old skoda which has a propensity to break down and overheat in traffic so...

Hope thats helpful

Gem x
