Ok folks it's now 11 days since the new chickens arrived and the two original ones are still bullying the new ones. Today we opened them up and one had laid an egg in the coup, not the nest boxes and one of the bullies was seen eating the egg. I don't know if it was only her but she is the main instigator of the bullying.
Any advice will be greatly recieved as the point of necking the two originals is coming very close.
TIA
Big Al

It really is up to you Mate.
They will settle down eventually, once the new ones either cow towe, or they hurt the old one.
What about getting a cockeral to keep them all in line? A load of Women together will always find something to fight about?
I say just let them get on with it.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

It's mainly the wife who is concerned as I don't bother with them in that they are livestock and not pets where as the wife calls them Henrietta, goldie, red and specky.............. Oh and the rabbits are mr and mrs snowball!!
I've since found out that you should bake egg shells in the oven before giving then to chickens as it increases the risk of birds eating eggs....

they will quit laying when a change occurs, for how long, is anyone's guess, some hens get moody and wont lay for weeks, others hardly seem to notice and go right on laying fine!
