Phew

Post: # 286285Post Green Aura »

Our internet connection died on Saturday night and has only just come back on.

They fobbed us off for days, telling us it's our router and various other excuses until yesterday (I think) when we found out that the entire village has been offline for all that time too.

Grrrr.

We lost our internet as well, not for that long, but a day and then on and off, we have a community page on FB and it was full of really angry people who had lost their connections on Vodafone, we even lost the phone connection and trying to phone the helpline was a dead loss as nothing was working at all, you never get any apology from their or a refund

Keep fingers crossed - so far we only had a few brief power cuts... Mind you, the machine for topping up electricity (at the post office) has been out of action for a few days, and I suspect that has something to do with the overall connections, i.e. the weather...

Thought that someone had been quiet. There will probably be water in the system somewhere.

Off again for two days. It came on again a few hours ago but has started dropping out again!

I'm rather glad that it's only a dodgy internet connection so far Maggie and not you being flooded out.

Me too, I hope things are not too bad now, your way, Flo. Flooding, doesn't seem to be one of our problems, although with the increased rain and wind who knows.

Being completely cut off - no TV, radio or internet was a mixed blessing, bit scary but a reminder of why we used to come here on holiday.

I wonder how you are doing Maggie in the high winds and nasty weather - no internet again?

Five days, this time, Flo. We're due to change over to fibre optic sometime later this year. Current opinion is that BT aren't maintaining the soon to be redundant system.

The wind was bad last night but I'm not sure it was as bad as the storms last January and the polytunnel survived.

Unfortunately the village petrol station has recently converted to card payments only and so we've been housebound throughout as we couldn't get any fuel. Thus far it has cost me £110 for my monthly T***o order that I couldn't collect - they assure me I'll be refunded as I had phoned to cancel it in plenty of time but I'm not holding my breath as they also told me they'd cancel it and didn't!
