Just for reference it is possible to grow these vines in Lancashire, outside. Last year I made a cracking 10 bottles (using an apple scratter to mince them up - 3 passes - and wild yeast) - plus a little chaptalisation (tate n lyle) to bring it up to 11.5%
The result was marvellous, but better whilst fresh - I did add a bit of sulphite but I don't think it is aging well.
Now trying to propagate the vines.. and chopping down the tasteless peach trees to reclaim the space...

about 12 vines... they are really quite vigorous once they get going.... they don't like shade at all though.
